In the Aures mountains of eastern Algeria, 12 year old Alya is told her brother has been killed in an accident. Their father Mouloud, a farmer, gets on his makeshift tractor and heads to the city of Batna to bring the body home. The Yellow House is a sensitive, colourful film which portrays the loneliness of the Aures mountains and ultimately the togetherness of a small community.
